After winning the Hungarian championship:
Diana Porsche nominated for the World Championships in Aachen
It was a weekend that could hardly have gone better: Salzburg-based dressage rider Diana Porsche secured the national title in her new sporting home at the Hungarian National Championships in Pilisjászfalu, while also finishing second in the World Cup. What’s particularly remarkable is that her 11-year-old KWPN gelding, Kentucky, was competing in only his second Grand Prix ever and making his international World Cup debut. These successes were capped off with an official nomination for the World Championships in Aachen!
Diana Porsche, who was born in Flachgau, has been competing for Hungary since 2026. From June 19 to 21, the new mom competed in her first Hungarian Championship in Budapest-Pilisjászfalu. The competition was held as part of the World Cup tournament. Riding Kentucky—known at home simply as “Chicken”—she impressed the crowd with two second-place finishes and a score of 73.295% in the freestyle.
Originally, she hadn’t even planned to compete with Kentucky. Her trusted partner, Dahoud, was supposed to make the trip to Budapest. However, after a minor injury in the paddock, she had to change plans at the last minute.
“Our Kentucky really impressed me this weekend. He’s only competed in one national Grand Prix so far, and now he’s performed with incredible confidence in his international World Cup debut. This achievement is all the more remarkable because my focus in preparing for the World Championships had recently been primarily on Dahoud and Pete,” said a delighted Diana Porsche.
With the championship title, the World Cup podium finish, and the subsequent World Championships nomination, the rider from Salzburg has made a strong statement on her way to the World Championships in Aachen, where she will represent Hungary for the first time on the biggest stage of international dressage.
