After 23 years in the saddle and now six years in international dressage Grand Prix sport, Diana Porsche has decided to change nations. In future, the 29-year-old will compete for Hungary.

"I would like to thank the Austrian Equestrian Federation for the past few years and wish the Austrian team all the best for the future. After careful consideration, I have decided to take a new path and I will continue my career under the Hungarian flag in the future. The support and trust of the Hungarian federation has made this step possible and I am proud to be able to ride for Hungary from the end of my maternity leave on 1 February 2026," explained the U25 European Championship bronze medallist.

Hungary - the new sporting home

Hungary has a deep-rooted tradition in equestrian sport. The Magyars brought horses to the region as early as the 9th century, and the country developed into an important centre for horse breeding and sport. During the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, stud farms were established that are still known today for their Lipizzaner, Gidran, Nonius and other noble breeds. With Diana Porsche, Hungary is gaining an outstanding addition to its international dressage sport alongside current top riders such as Anikó Komjáthy-Losonczy (World Cup finalist) and Máté Garai (ranked 94th in the world). With her experience and successes, Diana Porsche will enrich the strong team of Hungarian top athletes and help to further develop the international profile of Hungarian dressage.

A look into the future

By taking this step, Diana Porsche is not only emphasising her ambition to take on new challenges and develop further as an athlete, but also her personal attachment to Hungary and its equestrian tradition. The move gives her the opportunity to contribute her international experience and, together with the Hungarian dressage sport, to provide new impetus and build on existing successes.
